Dante’ James was born and raised in a quiet suburb near the city of Chicago until moving to Houston in his adolescence. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a fire fighter where he acquired many useful workplace skills. Throughout his military enlistment Mr. James was charged with such tasks as training fire department personnel to be proficient in the procedures of vehicle extrication and Self-Aid and Buddy Care. James was also a driver/operator of the departments aircraft fire suppression trucks making him a crucial part of the fire fighting and rescue process. His efforts throughout his military career earned him an Air Force Achievement Medal for outstanding achievements, an honor only granted to a select few in his rank. That same dedication to excellence is what earned him membership in the English National Honor Society of Sigma Kappa Delta at Lone Star College Montgomery, an honor awarded to those in the top ten percentile. After acquiring his Associate of Arts Dante’ decided to transfer to Texas Southern University to pursue a Bachelors degree in Journalism. His community involvement includes countless hours to various causes such as Habitat for Humanity in Houston where he lent his hands to help build two houses for individuals in need. He’s volunteered at Hillcrest Park Zoo where he used his creative outlook to revamp some of the older sections of the zoo in order to give it a newer more colorful atmosphere. James also tutored and mentored a number of bright, young individuals at Mesa Elementary School in Clovis, NM, helping them with math and reading and also encouraging team building and working together. Dante’s defining qualities are his drive for success and his compassion for others. He tackles every challenge with confidence because he has faith in his abilities to overcome obstacles and accomplish his goals.
